This is edited version of my previous work [link] [for those who can't see any difference- I've cut a bit grass =P]. I have a question for You:

Is this still photo?

To be honest, as it can be seen in my many photos, I like to make DRI or HDR pictures which shows what really I see during my shots. But this edition is on an absolutely different level. I interfere in the widely known 'root' of the photography - to save what I see. In this moment I add something into this picture, something from myself, my wish how this photo should be seen. Is this a negation of photography? But still, photomanipulation is as old as photography itself (in analog photos this process which I've done here is also possible). Where is the thin red line between reality and dream here?

Original photo was taken in Pinczow/Poland on 1 May 2012.

For a viewer like myself, who is just getting into photography, I mostly dont care how you evoked the mood (as Carrie said below). I can understand about being a "purist", and some shots may do best holding to that. But whatever you did to this one to so richly bring the contrasts of ethereal and grounding and light and dark into this focused yet flowing moment, have at it. So that we may have it. Lovely, evocative, unique, with just enough Deviance.

Hum, I'm not sure what to respond to you after reading your description. My photos all are raw, never changed nothing in them, not even in contrast or light. I don't even know how to do it. Nevertheless, I like this photo and it's true that removing the grass just enhanced it's faery beauty. I would not consider it as photo-manipulation, because you can still see the whole picture of it. What I do, sometimes, when I take pictures, if I have some branch that is sticking randomly in the camera objective, I just move it by hand before taking a picture of the scenery. What you basically did is the same thing here. You just removed a piece of landscape that you can't move by hand xD
